Because
of the hard economical times the board members of the
Church of Christ (COC) Directory came
up with a plan to help save and revive our Church of Christ
Business Owners/Sales Reps’ companies! Many of our
Christian business owners are losing their businesses
as well. So, when you have a problem you simply need an
answer.
So
what is the answer to saving or reviving our Christian
business owners’ businesses? Does this mean we should
wait for the government to help bailout the small businesses?
Yea right, keep waiting for that to happen. What if we
as Christians start patronizing and supporting our Christian
business owners more than ever and our Christian business
owners do more in supporting and taking care of ours customers
and congregations?
To
help jump start this venture, we (COC Directory) are asking
Church of Christ congregations to help us support our
Christian brothers and sisters in business by first making
it easier for thousands of Church of Christ members to
know who are our Christian business owners. Next we need
to know where and how can we find them, locally and nationwide.
Some are seating in our very own congregations with us
every Sunday morning and evening and we have no ideal
about their business. We need to do better.
Finally,
they could use some of our very own buying power! Let
me show you the buying power of the Church of Christ members.
In
the year 2000 it was recorded that there are over 13,000
Church of Christ congregations and with over 1.6
Million family members! Why is that important
for any business? We have major buying power.
Sometimes
referred to as purchasing power, buying power is defined
as the current value of available cash in relation to
the quality and quantity of products that can be purchased
using those available assets. Buying power has to do with
the ability of a consumer to use liquid assets to purchase
the desired quantity and quality of products that will
meet current wants and needs.

of receiving financial support from our members.

we know even in these hard times a lot of us still go
out to eat. What happens if (1-10%) of the estimated 10,000+
COC members in and around the Atlanta, GA area alone supported
Sis. Holmes' restaurant, at least once a month?

It's
not that hard to do. Sis. Holmes attends a COC congregation
with over a (1,000) Thousand members.
They alone could help her grow her restaurant to make
it one of the most profitable restaurants in the Atlanta,
GA area. That's if they want to do it!
By
the numbers we could do this with every COC business owners/sales
rep. Again, that's if we want to do it.
My
question that I ask many COC Ministers, Elders and Members,
what is really stopping us as a whole from supporting
our very own members in the Church? You might not believe
some of the answer I have received. So, I ask you, members
of the Church of Christ, ask your Minister, Elders and
Members why we as family are not support our very own,
but we have not trouble in financially supporting others
outside the Church?
